Wild Things Sign Trevor Bloom

Washington, PA- The Washington Wild Things, presented by Washington Financial signed Trevor Bloom to the 2012 roster.

Bloom spent a year each at New Mexico State University, College of the Canyons, and California State University, Sacramento.

At College of the Canyons, he was named to the Southern California All-American team as an outfielder, and was also the Player of the Year for the Western State-South Conference in 2009. He hit .388 with eight home runs and 52 RBI. He also received the Gold Glove Award in 2009 while playing for Canyon. Bloom then made his way to San Diego Christian College for his senior year.

"He is the ultimate `gamer'. he plays the game hard, is a consummate team player and was one of the best hitters in college baseball last season," said Chris Bando, Wild Things' field manager. "He can play infield, outfield and pitch. He is a winner and will playeverywhere for us this year. He hits everything hard."

At Palmdale High School Bloom batted .553 over three years with 17 home runs and 123 RBI. He was a First Team All-League selection from 2005-2007. He also garnered All State honors in 2006 and Golden League Player of the Year in 2007.

The Wild Things open the 2012 season at Evansville on May 18th. Washington hosts the Gateway Grizzles for their home opener on May 22. Season and Group Ticket packages are available at the CONSOL Energy Park Box Office.
