COOK COUNTY, IL - The Washington Wild Things (17-8), presented by Washington Federal Savings Bank, lost for the third consecutive night, the longest winless streak of the season. The Cook County Cheetahs (11-11) beat the Wild Things for the first time in three tries Saturday night with a 4-2 win.
Cheetahs starting pitcher, Brett Stephens (1-0), won his first game of the year with a complete game performance. Randy Reed went 1-for-3 and drove in the winning run with a two-run double in the seventh inning.
Ben Ally (1-3) pitched seven innings in the loss for Washington. He gave up four runs on five hits and struck out nine. Jason Kane drove in both Wild Things runs by going 2-for-3 with a sacrifice fly.
