Wild Things Fall to Windy City 5-2

CRESTWOOD, IL - The Washington Wild Things took to the road for a three-game series against the Windy City Thunderbolts on Tuesday, July 7. The Thunderbolts rallied from a two-run deficit in the bottom of the seventh inning to score five unanswered runs and ultimately winning the game 5-2. Chris DeBoo earned the win and reliever Tim Giel took the loss for Washington.

The Wild Things scored the first two runs of the game when right fielder Scott Kalamar sent the first runner home with an RBI single to score third baseman Carter Bell. In the top of the fifth inning, Bell hit an RBI of his own that scored All Star shortstop Austin Wobrock for the 2-0 advantage.

Helisek departed in the sixth inning, giving the ball to Giel. The Thunderbolts jumped on the right-hander as Windy City proceeded to score five runs in the bottom of the seventh to rally back and take a 5-2 lead that would last the rest of the night.
