Wild Things Fall in Opener Versus Boomers Friday

AVON, Ohio - The Wild Things fell behind early and couldn't come back in Friday's opener at Wild Things Park, as they fell to the Boomers, 7-2.
Schaumburg scored four runs in the top of the third highlighted by a Dylan Jones three-run homer. Washington got a run back in the fourth on a single by Hector Roa to plate Saige Jenco from second.
The Boomers scored a singular run in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings and Washington got its only other run in the seventh on a sac fly by Brett Marr.
Nick Durazo pitched the final three after AJ Bogucki allowed six runs in six innings in his start. Durazo fanned six and allowed one earned run.
Blake Adams had a multi-hit game for the Wild Things, who will look to even the series in the middle game tomorrow against the Boomers. Michael Austin takes the mound for Washington and will be opposed by Schaumburg's Connor Reed. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m.
