Washington Wild Things News Release
WASHINGTON, Pa. - The Wild Things fell behind early and didn't muster much offensively in Sunday's finale against the Boomers, falling 7-1 to close the schedule prior to the All Star Break.
Schaumburg's Matt Rose drove in six runs, highlighted by two home runs, and was a triple shy of the cycle in the finale.
The Boomers led 4-0 before the Wild Things scored their only run of the night on Cameron Baranek's fifth home run of the season. He homered in consecutive games to end the first half of the season.
John Havird took the loss, going six innings. He allowed 10 hits but had a season high nine strikeouts in the loss. Payton Lobdell picked up the win.
The Wild Things will take four days off before opening a three-game series at Schaumburg Friday night. Hector Roa and JJ Fernandez will represent the Wild Things at the All Star game festivities this week in Rockland, New York. First pitch of Friday's game is slated for 7:30 p.m. ET.
