Washington Wild Things News Release

QUEBEC CITY, Quebec, Canada - A couple homers in the middle stages of the series finale for the Quebec Capitales broke the game open and allowed Quebec to salvage a game of the weekend set, taking Sunday's affair, 10-1 against Washington.

The Wild Things scored the game's first run as they were looking for their second sweep of the 2023 campaign. In the top of the second, Washington notched two-out singles consecutively by Anthony Brocato, Tristan Peterson and Brett Carson. Peterson's scored Brocato, who had swiped second prior to the hit. Carson's was his first professional hit.

In the third, Quebec scored on an error during a sacrifice bunt attempt and three more times on a three-run shot by Kyle Crowl. The Capitales added a solo shot by Sam Abbott in the fourth and a run in the fifth on an RBI single by Tyler Blaum. Quebec scored three times off Anthony Boix in the seventh. Justin Gideon, Blaum and Abbott notched RBI in that three-run frame, which was finished by Brett Carson on the hill. A wild pitch scored Quebec's final run in the eighth.

Arrison Perez started for the Wild Things and was charged with five runs, four of which were earned, on five hits in four frames of work. Zach Blankenship allowed a run on two hits in two innings.

Washington returns home for a week now and will begin a three-game series with the East Division's Ottawa Titans Tuesday. It'll be, officially, the first trip to Washington for the Titans in franchise history. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m. Tuesday.
