Rich Michalek, a Pittsburgh Central Catholic High School and Slippery Rock University graduate, has signed with The Wild Things for the 2010 season. Michalek was a.355 career hitter at Slippery Rock where he had 34 stolen bases in his 108 career starts.

"We have gotten good reports on Rich," said Ross Vecchio, Wild Things' General Manager. "We like his versatility as he can play anywhere on the field. He had a great career at Slippery Rock, and he will be given an opportunity of winning a spot on our 2010 roster."

Matt Sutton, whose professional baseball career has been exclusively with The Wild Things, has been traded to the Lake Erie Crushers for future considerations. The LaGrange, NC native originally joined the Wild Things in 2007. He had a.264 average, 15 home runs and 52 RBI for Washington in 2009.

Craig Snipp, completed the 2009 season with a record of 3-4, striking out 57 in 76 innings pitched. The Lexington, KY native made his professional debut with the Grays (traveling team) of the Can Am League in 2007 after signing as a free agent from the University of Kentucky.

The Wild Things open their ninth season May 21st at CONSOL Energy Park when they host Oakland County Cruisers. Season ticket packages are available at the box office.
