
Wild Recalls McMillan, Ortmeyer from Aeros

HOUSTON --- Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled forwards Carson McMillan and Jed Ortmeyer from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL).
McMillan, 22 (9/10/88), made his NHL debut Sunday in Detroit, becoming just the fourth player in Wild history to score a goal in his first NHL game. McMillan has tallied 22 points (10-12=22), 80 PIM and a team-best three shorthanded goals in 78 games with Houston this season. The 6-foot-2, 194-pound native of Brandon, Manitoba, was selected by Minnesota in the seventh round (200th overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. McMillan wears No. 45 with the Wild.
Ortmeyer, 32 (9/3/78), has collected three shots, two penalty minutes and averaged 7:52 in time on ice per game in three contests with Minnesota this season. He has notched 15 points (5-10=15) and 29 penalty minutes (PIM) in 39 games with the Aeros, after compiling three points (2-1=3) and 17 PIM in 22 games with the San Antonio Rampage.
The 6-foot-1, 205-pound native of Omaha, Neb., has skated in 308 NHL games with the New York Rangers, Nashville, San Jose and Minnesota, accumulating 51 points (21-30=51) and 147 PIM in seven seasons. In 2009-10 with San Jose, Ortmeyer collected a career-high 19 points (8-11=19) in 76 regular season games while notching one assist in four playoff games. He was signed as a free agent by the Wild on Jan. 5. Ortmeyer wears No. 29 with Minnesota.
