
Senators Recall Five Players from Binghamton

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - April 7, 2011) - The Ottawa Senators today recalled defencemen Andre Benoit, David Hale and Derek Smith, along with forwards Erik Condra and Colin Greening from the club's American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators. All five played in the B-Sens' 2-1 overtime victory over Norfolk last night, which clinched a berth in the Calder Cup playoffs.
Benoit, 27, has an assist and four penalty minutes in six National Hockey League games this season. He leads all B-Sens defencemen with 55 points on 10 goals and 45 assists in 73 matches.
Hale has notched one goal, four assists and six penalty minutes in 23 outings with Ottawa. In 36 games with Binghamton, the 29-year-old has scored two goals, four assists and 32 penalty minutes.
Smith, 26, has played seven games with Ottawa, recording one assist. In 71 games with the B-Sens, he has 54 points (10 goals, 44 assists) and 21 penalty minutes.
The 24-year-old Condra has scored six goals and five assists, and added 12 penalty minutes in 24 games with Ottawa. He has recorded 17 goals, 30 assists and 28 penalty minutes in 55 games with the B-Sens.
Greening has recorded six goals, six assists and eight penalty minutes in 22 NHL games. The 25-year-old has 40 points (15 goals, 25 assists) in 59 games with the B-Sens.
The Senators next see action tonight when they host the Montreal Canadiens at 7 p.m., while the B-Sens visit the Rochester Americans on Friday at 7:35 p.m.
