Wild add firepower to offense

Your Alaska Wild added firepower to the offense this week by signing WR Billy Sewell and WR/DB Jay Williams to the roster. Sewell (6'6", 230),who has been delayed a week because of Mt. Redoubt, has been touted as a "Randy Moss" type receiver. Sewell played one season at Central Missouri and most recently at West Los Angeles College. During Sewell's sophomore season he tallied 25 sacks, 125 tackles, 6 interceptions and 22 blocked kicks at outside linebacker and defensive end while being named All-State, All-Conference, All-California and was a Preseason All-American. At receiver, Sewell had 43 catches for 600 yards and seven touchdowns. Sewell played at West Los Angeles with current Wild receiver Solomon Jones.

"Big Play" Jay Williams (6'4", 210 lbs) is a big, physical player out of Portland State University, who spent the 2007 and 2008 seasons with the San Angelo Stampede Express of the IFL. In the 2007 season Williams played in three games and had 18 catches and five touchdowns. In 2008 in San Angelo, Williams had 29 Catches, five touchdowns, 32 Tackles, three interceptions and two fumble recoveries. Williams also played in AF2 in 2005 with the Green Bay Blizzard and with the Ohio Valley Greyhounds of the UIFL.
