Wild to Open Hartman Arena with Clash vs. Divisional Foe

The Wichita Wild of the Indoor Football League (IFL) will kick-off their home opener this Saturday in the brand new Hartman Arena. The Wild will take on an old UIF foe in the Sioux Falls Storm. The gates will open at 6:00 PM and the game will kick off at 7:05 PM.

The Wild are led on offense by quarterback Derek Rasmussen who has thrown for the most yards of any IFL quarterback in a single game so far this season. Rasmussen?s go-to-guy in their season opener was wide receiver Clinton Solomon who either broke or tied three franchise records for receiving (touchdowns, receptions and yards). The home opener will also mark the debut of newly signed receiver Brian Murph.

Linebacker Lamont Reid leads the defense for the Wild which gave up 41 points to the Omaha Beef on March 20th. Reid tallied 9.5 tackles including 2.5 for loss, while also adding a sack. The Wild defense will also feature defensive lineman Justin Montgomery who also had a sack and defensive back Randy Kelly who intercepted a pass against the Beef.

The Storm arrives in Wichita boasting a 3-0 record and are led by quarterback Terrance Bryant, the franchise?s all-time leading passer. Byrant will be joined on offense by wide receivers by Brent Little and former Kansas State Wildcat James Terry. Terry has amassed 16 receptions for 186 yards and 2 touchdowns so far this season.

The Storm enters this week?s game giving up 38 points per game defensively. Linebacker Keke Bouie leads the team with 20.5 tackles and has even blocked two field goal attempts. Sioux Falls has had no problem getting to the quarter back so far this season, notching 9 sacks in three games. Corey Johnson has led the way for the Storm so far with 4 sacks this season.
