Lubbock GunSlingers News Release
The Lone Stars are one of the hottest teams in the IFL winning five games in a row. The Lone Stars moved from 5th place just a month ago into a tie for 2nd place this week. If the playoffs started today the Lone Stars would host the Stampede who have now lost four of their last five games.
The Dusters could also argue they are the hottest team in the IFL. Amarillo is also on a five game winning streak dating back to the last time the played in Lubbock.
After that 74-62 defeat to the Lone Stars Amarillo has rolled off wins over everyone in the league except Corpus Christi.
The Duster are coming off a 55-36 win over the El Paso Rumble (0-13), while the Lone Stars are currently coming off a 51-47 win over the Hammerheads (7-6).
The only way to find out which team is truly on fire is to watch them play on thei field. That's what they'll get a chance to do Saturday in Lubbock.
This game will also be for the coveted tie breaker. If Amarillo should win they would have the 3-1 advantage and would pretty much wrap up home field advantage through the playoffs. If Lubbock wins the two teams would be tied at 2-2 and the tie breaker would have to be determined at seasons end by point differential over the entire season..
Playoff pairings, tie breakers, and the bragging rights all on the line... Should be intresting to see what happens.
