Lubbock, TX, December 9, 2005 - The Lubbock Gunslingers, as the official Wranglers Sponsor for the Miracles Christmas Parade on 34th Street, will be accepting donations throughout the parade for Relief Awareness and Laughing Children Smile. Thanks to the support of David Cea, owner of Cap Rock Café, a booth will be set up in the parking lot in front of David's restaurant-3405 34th Street (34th & Indiana) next to Repeat Boutique, Paper Moon, and Walgreens.
Relief Awareness is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness of the effect of major disasters and provides financial relief to survivors locally, nationally and worldwide. People can purchase Awareness Bracelets that read "Love Your Neighbor" or "Taking Care of Our Own," for $3.00. You can also make donations by logging on to www.reliefawareness.com.
Laughing Children Smile is the Lubbock Gunslingers campaign to collect much needed items throughout the year for the Children's Home of Lubbock. For the Holiday Season the Gunslingers will be collecting donations of new and used (must be good condition) athletic equipment, such as jump ropes, baseballs, footballs and safely gear.
