San Angelo Colts News Release


Edinburg, Texas---On Saturday the Colts would play the last game of their 12 day 14 game road trip, the longest of the year. After taking three of the first four, San Angelo looked to take the finally. The Colts would, winning by a final of 7-3.

Landon Camp (15) started it for the Colts with a homerun in the top of the second, to give San Angelo an early 1-0 lead. The Thunder tied it up on a sac fly RBI by Antoin Gray and it was 1-1. San Angelo would score four in the fifth as they batted around sending nine men to the plate, getting an RBI on a bases loaded walk by Ronnie Gaines, a single by Cory Patton that drove in two and another RBI single this time by Daryl Jones to take a 5-1 lead.

The Thunder struck for solo runs in the sixth and seventh on an RBI single by Luke Hetherington and an RBI double by Yaibel Tamayo and McAllen cut it to 5-3. San Angelo added a single run of their own in the top of the eighth on an RBI ground out by Clay Calfee to make it 6-3 Colts. San Angelo received an insurance run on an RBI by Cory Patton in the ninth, Patton's third RBI on the night, and the Colts lead 7-3, which would be the final. Colts ace Logan Williamson is now 10-1 on the season.

The Colts have Sunday off, but they return home for a four game set against the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings beginning Monday. San Angelo will send out righty Chandler Barnard (8-2, 3.66) against a pitcher yet to be named for the WhiteWings. It all starts with the pre-game show on Monday at 6:45 p.m. with the first pitch set for 7:05 p.m. Listen to all the action on 101.9 "The Fire".
