Whitley Named Oakley CHL Goaltender Of The Week

ALLEN, Texas - The CHL announced today that Chris Whitley was named the Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week for the week of Nov. 16 to Nov. 22.
Whitley earned two wins last week against Arizona and Corpus Christi. Last Thursday, he had a 43-save performance in a 4-2 home win over the Sundogs and recorded his first professional shutout Saturday when he made 33 saves against the IceRays at the Allen Event Center. The Americans' play this week moved them into third place in the CHL with a 10-3-1 record this season.
The 6-foot-1, 215-pound goaltender is 6-1-1 this season with a.919 save percentage and 2.47 GAA.
Whitley, 26, graduated from Lakehead University in May where he holds numerous records and earned various honors, including OUA Men's Hockey Most Valuable Player and being the only netminder to have a perfect regular season in OUA play (15-0 in 2007-08) for Lakehead.
Allen's next game is Wednesday, Nov. 25, against the Mississippi RiverKings at the Allen Event Center at 7:30 p.m.
