WhiteWings To Host Six Community Nights

Harlingen, TX - The first half champion Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings will be hosting a community night at Harlingen Field in honor of residents of La Feria and San Benito during Saturday night's 7:05 p.m. game against the Edinburg Coyotes.

Bobbleheads will be given away to the first 500 adults.

"I am excited to welcome our neighbors from La Feria and San Benito to our first community night. Without their support we wouldn't be where we are today. This is a great opportunity for residents to see the team that secured home field advantage in the playoffs in the confines of a family-friendly and fun atmosphere," General Manager Cory Dirksen said.

This is the first of six community nights to be held during home games in August.

The second will be on Friday, August 10th at 7:05 p.m. when the WhiteWings host the defending United League Champion Alexandria Aces while honoring Raymondville and Rio Hondo. After the game there will be a fireworks spectacular.

The next night will be for Weslaco and Mercedes on Texas Lottery Day as the WhiteWings and Aces continue their series at 7:05 p.m.

Thursday, August 16th will be Brownsville Community Night on Thirsty Thusday when all fans can get beer for one dollar. The WhiteWings will again be hosting the Coyotes at 7:05 p.m.

Los Fresnos Community Night will be on Tuesday, August 21st at 7:05 p.m. when the WhiteWings play the San Angelo Colts on Shirt of Their Backs night. All fans can enter a raffle to win the WhiteWings' game-worn jerseys.

The WhiteWings will close out the season the following night with South Padre Island/Port Isabel Community Night at 7:05 p.m. After the game against the Colts, there will be a fireworks show. It is also Fan Appreciation Night.
