
WhiteWings Set to Open Up Their 2013 Season

It's time to hear the sound of "play ball " the The Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings open their 2013 professional baseball season on Thursday at historic Harlingen Field against longtime rival San Angelo and at the same time celebrate their 20th anniversary of their play in the Rio Grande Valley.
The game against the Colts will kickoff at 7:05 p.m. and will be the first of a 48-home game United League Baseball Division season, which has a few changes
The WhiteWings. and Colts will play a four game series before the local club takes the road to Alexandria, La., a club that has rejoined the United League Baseball division, after bowing out a couple of years.
On June 1, It will be back at Harlingen Field on Friday, June 1, when the WhiteWings play the Fort Worth -based Texas Thunder in another four-game series.
This series could prove interesting, since the WhiteWings have a new field manager in Chris Paterson, after several years having the club under the guidance of Eddie Dennis.
But Dennis is not gone from the league; he is the manager of the Thunder. He also will be very visible in Harlingen, since the Thunder and WhiteWings play 16 games at Harlingen Field.
