SAN ANGELO - Behind 11 runs on 16 hits, the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings trounced the San Angelo Colts by a score of 11-2.

Eric Blackwell (8-3), coming in as the league leader in ERA, pitched on just two days rest but allowed only two runs as he struck out seven batters in 5.1 innings. Blackwell is credited with the win as his ERA drops to 3.06.

Nine of the WhiteWings' eleven runs were scored with two outs. Meanwhile, the Colts left the bases loaded twice, stranding a total of ten runners on base.

Scoring nine runs by the fourth inning, the WhiteWings cruised to victory as they took a big lead early.

The WhiteWings started the offensive onslaught in the first, scoring early to take a 2-0 lead. David Peralta hit a sac fly to score one run before Leivi Ventura hit his 20th homerun of the year - and third of the series - to make it 2-0.

The Wings stayed on the gas pedal, putting seven runs on the board in their next three innings. Factoring into the seven run scoring binge was Edgar Trejo, who hit two home runs in the third and fourth innings - his 11th and 12th of the year - to help put the WhiteWings up big at 9-2 after the fourth inning.

LHP Juan Cedeño (3-0, 5.50 ERA) is expected to take the mound for the WhiteWings against RHP Adam Kramer (4-3, 6.89 ERA) tomorrow night. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
