Kenosha Bats Feast on Lake County Pitching

Zion, IL -The Kenosha County Fielders put up a five spot in the top of the first-inning Sunday, propelling them to a 18-6 victory over the Lake County Fielders.

Leading the offensive charge for Kenosha were their one and two hitters in the order. Lead-off hitter Paul Pulera finished the game going 2 for 5 with four runs scored, two RBI's and three stolen bases. Boe Baitinger went 3 for 4 with 3 walks. Baitinger had five runs scored, one RBI and five stolen bases.

Lake County was led offensively by first-baseman and pitcher David Casey. Casey went 2 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored. Casey threw two innings allowing a run in relief of starter Ruben Castellano. Castellano struggled out of the gates and lasted only four innings; taking the loss.

Kenosha starter Jon Olson went eight innings, allowing five runs on six hits and striking out seven.

Kenosha now leads the season series four games to one. Game 6 in the "Border Battle" series continues Monday evening at 7 pm at Fielders Stadium in Zion, Illinois. All games can be heard on 1220 AM WKRS, wkrs.com, or at fieldersbaseball.com with Derek Diesner live on the call.
