San Angelo - The Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings scored seven runs against San Angelo Colts starter Brian Hesnschel (4-2), who entered the game with the second-lowest ERA in United League Baseball (1.94), to win 7-4 tonight at Foster Field.

The Colts (21-10) got on the board against Reymond Cruz (4-2) in the bottom of the fourth. Ronnie Gaines led off by getting hit by a pitch. Jason Landreth followed with an RBI-double. One out later, Josh Collazo his an RBI-single to make it 2-0.

The WhiteWings (14-17) responded against Henschel in the top of the fifth. With one out, Justin Holloway singled and Stephen Ward reached on catcher's interference. Casey Allen followed with an RBI-double, moving Ward to third, from where he scored on a wild pickoff throw. Agustin Septimo hit an RBI-double and Joaquin Rodriguez was hit by a pitch. Jonathan Poterson followed with an RBI-single to make it 4-2.

The WhiteWings added a run in the top of the sixth when Alberto Cruz doubled, moved to third on a sacrifice bunt and scored on a single by Holloway.

In the bottom of the sixth, Landreth hit a leadoff single and Stephen Derrick reached on a fielder's choice. Collazo followed with a double. One out later, Butch Ballez hit a two-run single to make it 5-4.

The WhiteWings got those runs back in the top of the seventh. Septimo and Rodriguez led off the inning with singles. One out later, Douglas Brandt came in and gave up and RBI-single to Brian Nichols. After Cruz singled, Welinson Baez hit a sacrifice fly to make it 7-4.

Julio Santana pitched a scoreless ninth for his sixth save.

The WhiteWings and Colts play game four of this four-game series tomorrow night at 7:05 at Foster Field. Right-hander Sendy Vasquez (1-2) is expected to face left-hander Drew Coffey (1-1).
