Matt Whitehead had two goals to lead Mississippi RiverKings to a 7-3 victory over the Bloomington Thunder.
Whitehead's tallies came on the power play at 1:11 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Mississippi RiverKings and 19:14 into the second to make the score 4-3 Mississippi RiverKings.
Mississippi RiverKings outdid its season average for goals scored. Mississippi RiverKings averages 3.3 goals per game. Mississippi RiverKings was effective with a man advantage, and put in three goals while on the power play. By firing 33 shots on goal, Mississippi RiverKings exceeded the 28.3 shots it averages per game this year.
Mississippi RiverKings additionally got points from Devin Mantha, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Burke Gallimore, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Sean Jones also scored for Mississippi RiverKings. More assists for Mississippi RiverKings came via Mike Hayward, who had three and Mike Grace, Phil Bronner, Matt Harrington, and Andrew Randazzo, who each chipped in one.
Bloomington forced Mississippi RiverKings goalie Matthew Krahn to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots.

In addition, Bloomington received assists from Reid MacLeod and Eddie Olczyk, who contributed one a piece.
Krahn recorded 34 saves for Mississippi RiverKings. Mississippi RiverKings incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Bloomington's BJ OBrien stopped 26 shots out of the 33 that he faced. The Thunder incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
