
Whitecaps make a change in front office

West Michigan Whitecaps News Release
COMSTOCK PARK, MI - The West Michigan Whitecaps are announcing several changes to their front office staff. Following a successful baseball season, Whitecaps Professional Baseball Corporation is reorganizing and promoting several long-time employees.
Previously serving as the Vice President of Operations, Jim Jarecki has been promoted to Vice President of Whitecaps Professional Baseball. Jarecki will continue to oversee the day-to-day operations of Fifth Third Ballpark and will be involved in stategic and long-term growth planning for the organization. The Woodridge, Illinois native has been with the Whitecaps since the inaugural 1994 season and is a 15-year verteran of Minor League Baseball.
Steve McCarthy has been promoted from Director of Ticket Sales to Vice President of Sales. McCarthy is now in charge of all aspects of sales for the Whitecaps and Berlin Raceway, which is also owned by Whitecaps Professional Baseball Corporation. After five years with the Palace at Auburn Hills, the Grand Rapids native joined the Whitecaps in 2001.
Former Director of Corporate Sales Dan McCrath is now the Director of New Business Development. In his new position, McCrath will seek out and develop new business opportunities for the Whitecaps and Berlin Raceway. McCrath, a Caledonia native, joined the Whitecaps in September of 2000 after spending five years in radio sales.
Matt Costello will now focus his efforts completely on outside events as he moves from Director of Operations and Outside Events to Director of Outside Events. Costello will plan events and outings at Fifth Third Ballpark and Berlin Raceway other than Whitecaps baseball games and regular season races. The Grand Rapids native started with the Whitecaps in 1998 as an intern and has steadily moved up in the organization.
Trevor Tkach has been promoted from Account Executive to Senior Account Executive in the Whitecaps corporate sales department. Tkach, a Traverse City native, has been with the Whitecaps and Berlin Raceway since 2002.
The corporate sales staff has also added Katie Kroft as the Sales Assistant. Kroft served as the Promotions Intern for the 2005 season and will now assist the sales staff in developing and implementing campaigns for the upcoming season. Kroft is a native of Grandville and will soon graduate from Aquinas College.
In the Whitecaps Ticket Department, there have been several changes, including the promotion of Kerri Troyer to Director of Ticket Sales. Troyer previously served as the Group Sales Manager for the Whitecaps and her duties have now been expanded to oversee ticket sales at Fifth Third Ballpark and Berlin Raceway. A native of Hesston, Kansas, Troyer joined the Whitecaps full time in October of 2001 after completing an internship with the team during the 2001 season. Troyer graduated from the University of Kansas.
Stepping up from Ticket Sales Consultant to Group Sales Operations Manager is Chad Sayen. In his third season with the Whitecaps, Sayen will continue his ticket sales duties as well as oversee the operations of the group sales department. The Munising native is a graduate of Central Michigan University.
The Whitecaps have also added two new Ticket Sales Consultants in Dan Glowinski and Michael Kujawa. Glowinksi, who hails from Grand Haven was the operations intern at Berlin Raceway during the 2005 season and is a graduate of Grand Valley State University. Kujawa joined the Whitecaps ticket department after spending time with JDC Marketing. The Novi native is a recent graduate of Grand Valley State University.
Craig Yust was also promoted to Operations Manager. Yust previously served as a Ticket Sales Consultant for the Whitecaps and will continue those duties during the off season. Yust will also manage the day-to-day operations at Fifth Third Ballpark and take over many of the responsibilities previously held by Costello. The Valparaiso, Indiana native and Ball State University graduate began his career with the Whitecaps as a ticket sales intern during the 2004 season.
Matt Timon has been promoted from Food and Beverage Manager to Director of Food and Beverage. Timon will now oversee the food and beverage departments for the Whitecaps and Berlin Raceway. The Rockford native joined the Whitecaps full time in 2004.
