Wheat Kings to Host One Pre-Season Game

Calgary, Alta. - The Western Hockey League announced today the pre-season schedule of games in advance of the 2021-22 WHL Regular Season. The pre-season schedule includes 52 games, beginning Friday, September 10 and concluding Saturday, September 25th.

The Brandon Wheat Kings will open up the pre-season on Tuesday, September 14th in Moose Jaw vs the Warriors.

On Thursday, September 23rd the Wheat Kings will play their first home game since March 7th, 2020 when the Winnipeg ICE visit Westoba Place.

The pre-season schedule will conclude for the Wheat Kings with a trip to Winnipeg on Saturday, September 25th, vs the ICE at the Rink Academy.

The 2021 WHL Pre-season also features two tournaments, including events hosted by the Everett Silvertips and Tri-City Americans.

Once again, the WHL Pre-season will take WHL action to five non-WHL towns. On Friday, September 24 (7 p.m. PT), the Vancouver Giants and Prince George Cougars will meet in Maple Ridge, B.C., while the Saskatoon Blades and Prince Albert Raiders will head to Warman, Sask., to wrap up pre-season play on Saturday, September 25 (7 p.m. MT). The Medicine Hat Tigers will play both of their games in Irvine, Alta., while the Calgary Hitmen face-off in Siksika, Alta., and Tsuut'ina Nation, Alta.

The 2021-22 WHL Regular Season schedule for the Western Conference will be announced on Wednesday, June 23 at 11 a.m. MT. The 2021-22 WHL Regular Season schedule for the Eastern Conference will be announced at a later date.
