BRANDON M.B. - The Brandon Wheat Kings offense went to work Saturday as they defeat the Edmonton Oil Kings 10-2.

It was a great start with the Wheaties scoring a pair in the first. Only 90 seconds into the game Dawson Pasternak scored on the powerplay to make it 1-0. Then with 4 minutes remaining in the opening frame Rylen Roersma scored off a 2on1 play to make it 2-0 Wheat Kings.

The second period the Wheat Kings continued to fire on all cyclinders with Calder Anderson finding Nolan Flamand firing a left circle shot from his knees to make it 3-0 Wheat Kings. The Oil Kings would get on the board with Loick Daigle scoring off the two-man advantage but the Wheat Kings were quick to restore the two-goal lead with Nolan Ritchie scoring shorthanded to make it 4-1 Wheat Kings heading into the third period.

In the closing frame, the Wheat Kings would explode scoring a 6 third period goals. Dawson Pasternak and Rylen Roersma each scored their 2nd of the night. Then top prospect Joby Baumuller scored his 1st WHL goal. Noah Boyko added one for the Oil Kings, but the Wheat Kings would continue to press with Zakhar Polshakov, Evan Groening and Caleb Hadland all scoring to make it a 10-2 final.
