It's a brand new season of Wild Things baseball, but that's not all that's new at CONSOL Energy Park. Here's a look at what's fresh and rejuvenated this year:
The Team: The Washington Wild Things have taken a step in the right direction in order to bring championship caliber baseball back to the city this season. Bringing back just five players this year, the team has a new look. New manager Darin Everson and his staff, including new coaches Mark Dewey and Dana Williams and returning coach Bob Bozutto, hope to make this season a winning one for the fans!
The Staff: The front office staff is glimmering with many new faces this season. They have brought fresh ideas and many opportunities for the Wild Things' organization to grow, starting at the top with new managing director Todd Marlin. The entire staff has been working hard the entire off-season in order to improve the fan experience at the ballpark. Stop by and say hello...we look forward to meeting you!
Kids Eat Free: At every Tuesday and Wednesday home game, kids 12 and under eat free! Kids will receive a voucher for a hot dog, soft drink and chip as they enter the ballpark. Bring the family out to a game to take advantage of this great deal!
Birthday Parties: This year's birthday parties have a brand new look! Your child will receive the VIP treatment at CONSOL Energy Park. We'll take care of all the details, from the invitations, to the food, to the party favors. The birthday child will receive an autographed baseball and will stand with the Wild Thing on the dugout as the entire stadium sings "Happy Birthday!" Ballpark Food: Check out the new fare at the ballpark! The Grand Slam Grille, near the right field gate, features giant hot dogs and sausages. Wild Things: Taste of the Wild will feature a different exotic item every homestand. During Opening Weekend, try out the alligator nuggets. Chow down on fried pickles and fresh cut fries at the stand next to the season ticket concierge. Plus, don't miss the visiting team specialties-we'll feature a different item from the visiting team's stadium or city at every game!
