----- Tonight, the SeaWolves host their first post season game since 2007 as they take on the Harrisburg Senators (Washington Nationals) in the opening game of the Western Division Championship Series...The SeaWolves enter the playoffs winning two straight games to end the regular season following a doubleheader sweep of Bowie on Monday. The Senators clinched their second division title in three seasons with a win on Monday over Richmond...Today, Drew VerHagen makes his 13th start with the SeaWolves and second against the Senators. He beat Harrisburg on July 1 tossing eight shutout inning, allowing three hits with no walks and two strikeouts. VerHagen is in search of his first win since July 6. VerHagen took a loss in his last regular season start against Bowie on August 30 in game one of a doubleheader. In the game, he allowed four runs, three earned, on five hits with a walk and six strikeouts in four innings of work...RHP A.J. Cole takes the mound for the Senators making his eighth start and second against the SeaWolves. Erie beat Cole on August 22. In the game, he allowed three runs on four hits with no walks and nine strikeouts in six innings. He earned a win in his final regular season start against Altoona on August 28. In the game, he tossed seven shutout innings, allowing four hits with two walks and seven strikeouts. This is the second time the SeaWolves and Senators meet in the playoffs. Harrisburg won the prior series over Erie in 1999 3-1 in Erie's first season as a Double-A club.
