West Brom Tickets Now on Sale to Public

May 26, 2015 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Charleston Battery News Release

CHARLESTON -- Tickets to the July 17 international exhibition between West Bromwich Albion of the Barclay's English Premier League and Charleston Battery of North America's United Soccer League went on sale Tuesday morning both via the Battery website and over the phone.

The Battery announced the exhibition match -- the first between the club and an EPL franchise since Bolton Wanderers visited Charleston in 2010 -- on May 12. Over the past two weeks the club has offered its season ticket holders, selected partners and newsletter subscribers special opportunities to purchase tickets in special pre-sale. But with the Memorial Weekend now over, all remaining tickets are available to the general public.

The match is presented by Ishpi.

"I know it's an exciting day for a lot of soccer fans in Charleston and the Carolinas," said Andrew Bell, Battery club president. "It's not every year we get to bring a quality EPL team to the Lowcountry, and the level of interest we've received so far is simply unprecedented."

Tickets to the exhibition start at $25 and can be purchased online here (charlestonbattery.com), or over the phone at 843.971.GOAL (4625).

The match is the middle stop on Albion's three-match, 10-day preseason tour of the Southeastern United States. The West Midlands club will begin in its U.S. swing in Florida with a match against Orlando City S.C. of Major League Soccer on July 15, continue on to Charleston for the 7:30 p.m. match on Friday, July 17, and finish the tour in Richmond, Va., for a game against USL's Richmond Kickers on July 19.

Charleston will play USL rivals Wilmington Hammerheads the following day in a crucial league match on Saturday, July 18.

Blackbaud Stadium, home of the Battery, is a soccer-specific stadium patterned after traditional English lower-division football grounds. It opened in 1999, and seats 5,100.

"We're anticipating a pre-match sellout, so we're recommending that fans move quickly to get the seats they want," Bell said. "These summer EPL matches become part of Charleston soccer lore, and local interest in Premier League and the Battery has never been higher."
