Colorado Springs, Colo. (Tuesday, May 26, 2015) - The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC will play in the third round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup tomorrow.
The Switchbacks FC will take on fellow USL Western Conference club, Real Monarchs SLC. The two clubs have met twice already in regular-season USL play. The Switchbacks FC came out victorious in each meeting, and hope the third time is also the charm for Wednesday's match.
The match starts at 7 p.m. You can watch it live at Back East Bar & Grill and on YouTube.
The winner of the Switchbacks FC match tomorrow will go on to play the Colorado Rapids at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City on June 16th .
To get to this third round of the U.S. Open Cup, the Switchbacks FC beat the Harpo's FC of Boulder last Wednesday at Sand Creek Stadium.
The Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup is seen as U.S. Soccer's National Club Championship. It is an annual competition open to all amateur and professional soccer teams that are affiliated with U.S. Soccer, and dates back to 1914.
