
Wendall Gaines Re-Signs With Rattlers

Phoenix, AZ - The Arizona Rattlers have re-signed Lineman Wendall Gaines, the team announced today. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. Gaines (6-5, 290, Oklahoma State) has spent his entire five-year career with the Rattlers.
Gaines is coming off his best season in the AFL, having been named to the League's All-Ironman team in 2004. Appearing in all 16 games, Gaines recorded 30 tackles, five tackles for loss, and two QB sacks. He also batted away three passes, blocked four kicks, and recovered two fumbles, both for touchdowns. On offense, he caught eight passes for 60 yards and four touchdowns. For his career, Gaines has ten sacks to go along with his seven touchdown receptions.
"Having Wendall back is huge for us," said GM Gene Nudo. "He is a dominating force on both sides of the ball, and we're certainly glad he's on our team."
