RAPIDS VISIT VANCOUVER WHITECAPS FC ON SUNDAY: The Colorado Rapids face Vancouver Whitecaps FC at 4:30 p.m. PT (5:30 p.m. MT) this Sunday, September 23 at BC Place in Vancouver. The Whitecaps are currently holding the 5th and final playoff spot in the Western Conference, and are eight points ahead of the Rapids with five games remaining for both teams. Sunday's match will be broadcast live on Altitude, Mile High Sports Radio, and ESPN Deportes Radio, with the Coors Light Away Game Viewing Party at the British Bulldog in downtown Denver. U.S. WOMEN'S NATIONAL TEAM TO HOLD OPEN TRAINING SESSION TUESDAY AT 4:30 PM: The United States Women's National Team will hold an open training session at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 18 at Dick's Sporting Goods Park, which is open to all fans interested in attending. The team, with stars including Abby Wambach, Hope Solo and Alex Morgan, will train for roughly an hour on the stadium field, with fans entering through Gate B.
U.S. WOMEN FACE AUSTRALIA AT DICK'S SPORTING GOODS PARK ON WEDNESDAY: The Gold Medal-winning U.S. Women's National Team will face Australia this Wednesday, Sept. 19 at Dick's Sporting Goods Park at 8 p.m. MT. The match is part of the Fan Tribute Tour after the team won gold in the London Olympics this summer, and is also Pia Sundhage's final match as head coach of the squad. The match is nearly sold out with limited tickets remaining by clicking here. The U.S. Women faced Australia on Sunday, Sept. 16 at The Home Depot Center where the USA came from behind to earn a 2-1 victory.
RAPIDS ACQUIRE DEFENDER CHRIS KLUTE ON LOAN: The Colorado Rapids announced last Friday that the team has acquired Chris Klute, a 22 year-old defender with experience on the United States Youth National Teams, on a one-year loan from the Altanta Silverbacks of NASL. Klute signed with the Silverbacks in June and played in all 12 of the team's matches since, playing the full 90 minutes in his 11 starts and notching one assist. The defender will be available for selection with the Rapids in their upcoming match against Vancouver Whitecaps FC; for more information on his first day with the Rapids, visit www.ColoradoRapids.com .
RAPIDS HOST THE LA GALAXY ON SEPTEMBER 30: The Rapids will return to Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City on Sunday, September 30 against the LA Galaxy, looking for payback against the Galaxy who downed the Rapids in California on Sept. 14.
