NEW YORK (September 17, 2012) - New York Red Bulls Forward Thierry Henry was voted Major League Soccer Player of the Week by the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR) for Week 28 of the 2012 MLS season.
Henry notched a brace and added an assist on Saturday, leading the New York Red Bulls to a come-from-behind 3-1 victory over the Columbus Crew. His 13 goals this season put him in fourth place, tied with Seattle Sounders FC's Eddie Johnson, in the 2012 Budweiser Golden Boot race.
The honor is Henry's fourth MLS Player of the Week award this season after garnering the accolade in Weeks 3, 4 and 5.
The MLS Player of the Week is selected each week of the regular season by a panel of journalists from NASR. The group consists of members of print, television, radio and online media. More information and membership information can be found at http://www.soccerreporters.com/ .
