Lone Star Brahmas News Release
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX - After taking five out of six points down on the beach in Corpus Christi, it's a quick turnaround for the boys who are preparing for Military Appreciation Weekend that kicks off on Wednesday at NYTEX Sports Centre.
On Wednesday night the Brahmas will take on the Wichita Falls Wildcats, and on Friday and Saturday the Amarillo Bulls are in town yet again.
THE WILDCATS: Entering the weekend at 17-3-2, Wichita Falls is currently tied for the league-lead in points with 36. The team is currently on a three game win streak after an impressive weekend in which they scored eight goals on Saturday night against Odessa, then traveled to Amarillo the next day and picked up a 5-4 overtime win thanks to an Austin Albrecht goal with just one second remaining.
Back on October 23 & 24, the only time the Brahmas and Wildcats have faced off this season, both games needed extra time and each side picked up a 2-1 victory. The stage is set for what is expected to be a thrilling weekend between the two best teams in the south division.
THE BULLS: Currently residing at last place in the south, the familiar foes carry a record of 5-15-3. Over the weekend the team dropped two one-goal heartbreakers to Odessa and the aforementioned Wichita Falls, which has now extended their current skid to five games.
If the Bulls want to snap their current slide, they'll have to make some serious adjustments because Lone Star has had their number all season long. The one positive they may carry into this weekend is that in the most recent round they scored three against Corbin Kaczpersi, the most they've struck for against the Brahmas this season.
THE BRAHMAS: With points in 12 straight games the squad now has 13 wins, one regulation loss and four overtime losses. Accompanied with the best win percentage in the league (.833%), a top of the league goaltending tandem, deep defensive group, and an offense that has been rolling, the Brahmas are a feared team.
It hasn't been all storybook for the boys though as Corpus Christi came at a cost, removing Kyle Patava and Tomas Brejcha from the lineup for an extended period of time. While those two were crucial forwards, players such as Carson Kelley and Troy York have stepped up immediately, contributing heavily through the remainder of the trip.
PROMOTIONS: Along with honoring our troops there's plenty of freebies and fun for these three contests presented by ACME Brick, CareNow, Dr. Pepper and ITS Tactical.
WEDNESDAY: CareNow Military Appreciation Poster Giveaway + Post-Game Skate With The Team
FRIDAY: Guys Night Out + CareNow Military Appreciation Poster Giveaway

Puck drop on Wednesday is 7 P.M., 7:30 on Friday and Saturday. Some tickets are still available under the TICKETS tab at the top of your screen, over the phone at 817-336-4ICE or at the NYTEX Sports Centre box office.
