Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
Waterloo, Iowa-The Waterloo Black Hawks' opening 2023 Clark Cup Playoff game will start at 7:05 p.m. this Friday, April 28th at the outset of a best-of-three USHL Western Conference Semifinal series. All games during this round will be hosted by the Hawks at Young Arena.
Tonight's result in Game Two of a first-round set between the Lincoln Stars and Des Moines Buccaneers crystalized the Black Hawks' schedule. The Stars defeated the Buccaneers 4-3 in overtime to win the series. The result sets up a rematch of a three-game 2022 playoff encounter which Waterloo won in Lincoln last April.
During the coming weekend's Conference Semifinal series in Waterloo, all Black Hawks season ticket holders will receive complimentary tickets, which will be added to online ticket accounts Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. For all other fans, tickets will be $7 per game and available by calling the Domino's Black Hawks Box Office after 10 a.m. or online from tickets.waterlooblackhawks.com.
"The Black Hawks won 21 games at Young Arena this winter, and Waterloo fans are a major reason why," said Black Hawks President and COO Joe Greene. "We are offering discounted tickets this weekend as both a way to say 'thank you' and to make Party Town just as difficult for visiting teams in the playoffs as it is in the regular season. There are only a few days to sell enough tickets to pack the building, but I know Hawks fans will be ready to roar on Friday."
The complete schedule for this weekend's series is:
Game One - Friday, April 28 at 7:05 p.m.
Game Two - Saturday, April 29 at 6:05 p.m.
Game Three - Sunday, April 30 at 3:05 p.m. (if necessary)
The first 1,000 fans at the rink for Game One will receive a playoff rally towel, presented by U.S. Bank. In addition, 500 early arriving fans will receive a 2023 Black Hawks playoff poster. There will also be drink specials offered to those age 21 and over during each playoff game.
Young Arena's doors will open to all fans 90 minutes before each playoff game.
