Storm Set to Host Musketeers in Game #2

KEARNEY, NE -The Tri-City Storm is set to host the Sioux City Musketeers tonight at the Viaero Center for Game #2 of the team's 1st Round Best-Of-Three series. The Storm defeated the Musketeers by a final score of 6-1 last night to take a 1-0 series lead. A win on home ice tonight in Game #2 would send the Storm to the Western Conference Semifinals round of the Clark Cup Playoffs. Tri-City (1-0, 4th Seed) posted a five-goal win on home ice in last night's opening game of the playoffs to take a one-game series lead over the Musketeers. Graham Gamache notched three goals in the victory. Kieran Cebrian, Alex Bump, and Trevor Connelly also scored goals for the Storm in the win. Cameron Korpi recorded the win in net for the Storm after making 13 saves on 14 shots. The Storm's powerplay finished the game 1/2 with a goal scored by Graham Gamache at 8:50 of the 3rd period. Tri-City's penalty kill put together a 2/2 effort during the matchup. Gamache also gave the Storm's penalty kill a shorthanded goal during the 3rd period. Trevor Connelly (2), Tanner Adams, Seth Constance, Jake Richard, Graham Gamache, Phillipe Blais-Savoie, Cale Ashcroft, and Alex Bump all recorded assists in the game for Tri-City. The Storm outshot the Musketeers 27-14 in the matchup.

Sioux City (0-1), 5th Seed) dropped the opening game of the postseason in last night's 6-1 road loss at the Viaero Center. Ryan Conmy scored the Musketeer's lone goal in the loss. The goal was netted at 2:50 of the 3rd period, and was assisted by Grant Slukynsky, and Tyler Hotson. Croix Kochendorfer recorded the loss in net for Sioux City after making 20 saves on 26 shots on goal. He was replaced in goal by teammate Axel Mangbo for the final 8:27 of the game. Sioux City's powerplay was held off the scoreboard, finishing the game 0/2. The Musketeer's penalty kill surrendered a 3rd period goal to Graham Gamache, and was 1/2 in Monday's matchup. Each team was penalized for five infractions, totaling twenty-one minutes of penalty time during the contest.
