Week Preview: The Havoc See Three Game in Five Nights

HUNTSVILLE, AL- The Havoc kick-off their final ten games of the regular season with their last weekday game of the season and a home- and-home series to end the week.

Weekend Recap Huntsville registered standings points in all three games over the weekend while outscoring their opponents a combined 13-11.

The Havoc began their first three-game in three-night series of the month with a 5-4 overtime loss to Knoxville. The Ice Bears kicked off the scoring just :35 seconds into the game, but Huntsville clawed back throughout the night. The Havoc saw their first and only lead of the game when John Clewlow scored his first goal against his former team during the second period. In the third, Knoxville notched the game-tying goal to send it to overtime where the Ice Bears would outlast the Havoc.

In Friday's contest, the Havoc erased a two-goal deficit in the second period while player/assistant coach Stuart Stefan notched his first multi-goal game of the season. The Delhi, Ont. native's second goal of the night came on the powerplay, marking Huntsville's second man-advantage goal in the last three games. In the third, Roanoke scored a powerplay goal of their own to send the game into overtime. With the extra frame proving no victor, Huntsville went to their fourth shootout of the season where the Rail Yard Dawgs scored twice to grab the 4-3 contest.

The following night, the Havoc wrapped up their seven-game season series against the Knoxville Ice Bears with their second meeting of the week. Huntsville registered the game's first goal for the first time in their last five games overall, but entered the second period tied at two against Knoxville. In the second, the Havoc registered their second three-goal frame against Knoxville. Two-goals 1:59 apart from each other in the middle frame propelled Huntsville to their second home win of the season against the Ice Bears with a 6-2 victory.

Vs. Mississippi Huntsville will begin the week with their final meeting of the regular season against the Mississippi RiverKings. The Havoc hold a 3-1-0-1 record in the series including one shutout.

After each of the first two contests were decided by a goal, the Havoc have seen the last two decided by two.

Huntsville has the game's first goal in three of the first five meetings against Mississippi while holding the RiverKings to just four goals combined in the first period.

The Havoc, who have powerplay goals in two straight and three of their last four games overall, have man-advantage goals in three of the five games against the RiverKings. The team to win the special teams battle has gone on to win four of the five contests between the two clubs.

Sy Nutkevitch, who returned to the lineup on Saturday after missing 11 games for the Havoc, leads Huntsville in points against Mississippi with a goal and four assists in four games played. Stuart Stefan remains the only player to appear in every game for Huntsville and has two goals and an assist against the RiverKings this season.

Mississippi, who sees seven of their last ten at home including Tuesday's contest, are coming off a 9-2 victory on Saturday which ended a three-game losing streak. The RiverKings have given up four or more in three of their last four contests overall.

The originally scheduled April 1st meeting between Huntsville and Mississippi has since been changed.

The Havoc will now take on Macon in their final home game of the regular season, with the RiverKings traveling to Peoria.

Vs. Evansville The Havoc will finish the week with a home-and-home two-game series against the Evansville Thunderbolts. Huntsville is 3-1 on the season against Evansville while scoring the game's first goal in each contest.

Huntsville has goals in 10 of the first 12 periods against Evansville in franchise history with multiple goals in five.

The Havoc are outscoring the Thunderbolts 9-1 in the first period but have given up seven goals through four games combined in the third period.

Huntsville has scored two goals less than two minutes apart from each other in all four contests, with the January 13th contest seeing two goals eleven seconds apart. Jordan Wood registered the quickest goal of the season to start a game on December 30th just 22 seconds into the contest against Evansville.

The Thunderbolts find themselves six points out of the final playoff spot in the SPHL and are winless in nine straight. Evansville have a league-low six wins on home ice this season.

Saturday's contest at the Von Braun Center will mark the first of two meetings on the month between the two clubs in Huntsville.
