MACON, GA- After taking both games from the Fayetteville Marksmen this past weekend, the Macon Mayhem finish off the regular season with three games this week on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

WEEKEND RECAP

The Mayhem finished their 10-game season series with the Marksmen this past weekend with a pair of wins. Macon outscored them 10-2 over the two games, defeating them 6-1 on the road on Friday and 4-1 at home on Saturday. Jake Trask and Dylan Vander Esch led the team with four points apiece - all in Friday's contest, while Daniel Gentzler tallied three points on the weekend. Defenseman Jake Faiella collected his first career professional goal and assist in Saturday's game, and defenseman Larry Smith also picked up his first career point with an assist in game two. Charlie Finn and Peter Di Salvo split the wins on the weekend, as both goalies only allowed one goal in their start.

WEEKEND PREVIEW

A three-in-three is on the horizon for the Mayhem, with the Thursday and Saturday ends of the weekend coming at home at the Macon Coliseum. Thursday night is College Night against the Pensacola Ice Flyers, and the Mayhem will be offering a $10 general admission ticket for all fans. The arena will also be offering $3 Coors Light pints and $2 hot dogs no Thursday night.

After hitting the road to take on the Birmingham Bulls on Friday, the Mayhem will be back home on Saturday for Fan Appreciation Night against the Evansville Thunderbolts. The first 1,000 fans at the game will receive an official team photo to celebrate the 2017-2018 season. The team is also offering the final Carrabba's Family Four-Pack of the season, which includes four tickets, four hot dogs, four Cokes, four popcorns and a $30 Carrabba's gift certificate on a meal of four for $44. Family Four-Packs must be purchased before 5:00 PM on Friday.

Pensacola Ice Flyers Preview

2017-2018 Team Record: 32-15-6 record (70 points; 2nd Place)

Season Series (Last Meeting): Both teams 4-4-0 in season series (5-4 Macon win on January 20)

Leading Scorer: Garrett Milan (52 games played, 12 goals, 48 assists, 60 points)

Goaltending Situation: Brian Billett (20 GP, 9-6-3 record, 2.59 goals against average, .901 save percentage); Braeden Ostepchuk (1 GP, 1-0-0 record, 6.00 GAA, .818 SV%)

Thursday's game between the Mayhem and Ice Flyers is a battle for second place in the standings, as Pensacola sits just two points ahead of the Mayhem. With goaltender Gordon Defiel on injured reserve, head coach Jeff Bes has been rolling with Brian Billett as the starting goaltender, and he has performed well. In 20 games, the former Knoxville Ice Bear Billett posts a 2.59 GAA and .901 SV%. While ranking first in goals against throughout the season, Pensacola has fallen off a bit lately. They are 5-3-2 over their last 10 games, but they have allowed 3.40 goals per game - compared to the 2.77 goals against per game throughout the season. Garrett Milan has been one of the hottest players in the league, recording at least one point in 11 of his last 12 games. Over that stretch, he has three goals, 14 assists and 17 points.

Birmingham Bulls Preview

2017-2018 Team Record: 22-27-5 record (49 points; 9th Place)

Season Series (Last Meeting): Mayhem 3-1-0 vs. Bulls (3-2 Macon win on February 16)

Leading Scorer: Jacob Barber (50 GP, 24 goals, 28 assists, 52 points)

Starting Goaltender: Charlie Millen (26 GP, 14-10-1 record, 3.58 GAA, .901 SV%)

The Bulls have officially been eliminated from playoff contention in their inaugural season after this past weekend. After finding themselves fighting for the eighth seed in the SPHL playoffs, Birmingham has now dropped five games in a row. They have scored just 2.80 goals per game and allowed 5.20 goals per game over their five-game losing streak. Charlie Millen has taken over as the team's starting goaltender with Mavric Parks on loan to the ECHL, and despite having a 14-10-1 record, he has posted a 3.58 goals against average in 26 games this season.

Evansville Thunderbolts Preview

2017-2018 Team Record: 26-20-8 record (60 points; 6th Place)

Season Series (Last Meeting): Mayhem 4-1-1 vs. Thunderbolts (3-2 Macon win on February 23)

Leading Scorer: Dylan Clarke (50 GP, 23 goals, 28 assists, 51 points)

Goaltending Situation: Ryan de Melo (with Evansville: 11 GP, 4-4-3 record, 2.86 GAA, .914 SV%); Ian Sylves (4 GP, 3-1-0 record, 3.00 GAA, .915 SV%)

The Thunderbolts have righted the ship after experiencing an eight-game losing streak and 13-game winless streak that stretched from January 26th through February 24th. In 10 games since that stretch, they have a 7-2-1 record. Over their last 10 games, Evansville has scored 3.30 goals per game and allowed just 2.60 goals per game. Their 13-game winless streak started when goaltender Tomas Sholl was loaned to the ECHL, and he has not been back since. The team added Ryan de Melo in mid-February after placing Jonah Imoo on waivers, and in 11 games with the Thunderbolts, he has posted a 2.68 GAA and .914 SV%.
