
Week 13 Game Preview: Arizona Rattlers (9-0) at San Diego Strike Force (1-9)

oenix - The Arizona Rattlers (9-0) will travel back to San Diego for the second time this season to face the San Diego Strike Force (1-9). This game will mark the first of three road games for the Rattlers.
In Arizona's first ever visit to San Diego on April 22, the Rattlers defeated the Strike Force, 52-14. QB Jeff Ziemba threw for 152 yards and one touchdown, while RB Roland Genesy Jr. accounted for three touchdowns in the win. The Rattlers defense held the Strike Force scoreless for the entire second half.
Prior to the bye week, the Rattlers picked up a 56-46 victory over the Nebraska Danger at Talking Stick Resort Arena. With the win, the Rattlers remain atop of the Indoor Football League (IFL) standings with five games left to play in the 2019 regular season.
Making his Rattlers debut, QB Drew Powell completed 8-of-10 passes for 96 yards and one touchdown. He also led the offense on the ground, running 11 times for 63 yards and three touchdowns.
RB Darrell Monroe led the Rattlers with 86 receiving yards while both RB/WR Jamal Miles and WR Jarrod Harrington each added one touchdown grab in the victory.
Arizona K Jimmy Camacho made all eight of his extra point attempts and leads all kickers in the IFL with 82 points.
Meanwhile, the Strike Force are coming off back-to-back losses to the Tucson Sugar Skulls. Last week saw San Diego fall 65-48 at home to Tucson. The Strike Force come into this week's matchup looking to put an end to a three-game slide.
Offensively, they were led last week by QB Jihad Vercher who completed 11-of-17 passes for 160 yards and three touchdowns. Vercher also led the team with nine carries for 45 yards and one score.
WR Julian Stafford hauled in three passes for 69 yards and a touchdown, while WR Marques Rodgers and RB/WR Dominique Carson each caught a touchdown pass in the loss.
K Ernesto Lacayo connected on all six of his extra point tries and also made a pair of long field goals to keep San Diego within reach.
Defensively for the Rattlers, they forced three turnovers against the Danger. DL Lance McDowdell led the defense with five tackles, including two tackles for loss.
DB Davontae Merriweather and DL Chris McAllister each added a sack as well. DB Dillion Winfrey intercepted his fifth pass of the season, which leads the team, and DB Allen Chapman had two interceptions as well. The Rattlers currently lead the IFL with 17 interceptions and rank second in sacks with 20.
LB Ralph Harvey Jr. led the Strike Force defense last week with 15 total tackles against the Sugar Skulls. DB Tyler Thornton and DB Omar Cook combined for a tackle for loss while DL Sergio illips added a sack.
San Diego held Tucson to 3.1 yards per carry last weekend and currently hold the sixth-ranked passing defense, allowing only 148 yards per game.
The Rattlers and the Strike Force are slated for a 5:05 p.m. AZT kickoff this Sunday and the game can be streamed live on YouTube.
