Huntsville 6, Winston-Salem 5, OT
WINSTON-SALEM, NC - Brad McDonald scored with 1:31 left in overtime to give the Huntsville Havoc a 6-5 win over the Winston-Salem Polar Twins Thursday night. Steve Howard, Jeff Dams, Josh Leibenow, Corey Dean and Doug Merrell all added goals for the Havoc. Jason deGuehery and James Patterson each had three assists while McDonald, Tim Plett and Mike Degurse all had one. Matt Carmichael got the win. He stopped 36-of-41 shots. Winston-Salem was 2-of-7 on the power play while Huntsville was 0-of-3. Huntsville was whistled for 29 penalty minutes while Winston-Salem was called for 11.
Huntsville 4, Fayetteville 3
FAYETTEVILLE, NC - The Huntsville Havoc jumped out to 4-1 lead and held on for a 4-3 over the Fayetteville Fire Antz Friday night. James Patterson scored two goals and Jeff Dams and Luke Phillips added one each in the win. Dams added two assists while Jason deGuehery, Shawn Breaker, Doug Merrell and Mike Degurse all had one each. Adam MacLean got his second win of the season by stopping 43-of-46 shots. It was his first win since being resigned last week.
Huntsville 0, Macon 4
HUNTSVILLE, AL - Matt Moore scored with 6:04 left in the game on deflection off goalie Matt Carmichael to give the Knoxville Ice Bears a 2-1 win over the Huntsville Havoc Saturday night in front of 4,019 fans. Kevin Swider put Knoxville on the board just :28 into the third period. Doug Merrell tied the game with 13:51 left. K.J. Vorhees had two assists for Knoxville while Swider added one. Shawn Breaker and Mike Degurse had assists for Huntsville. Both played played extremely well as James Ronayne stopped 35-of-36 shots to get the win. Carmichael stopped 38-of-40 in the loss.
