Brandon, MB. - The Brandon Wheat Kings return home to the friendly confines of Westman Communications Group Wednesday night as the Saskatoon Blades pay their second to last appearance of the 2015-16 Western Hockey League season.

Fresh off collecting six of a possible 10 points during last week's 5-game in seven night road trip, the Wheat Kings sit tied with Lethbridge atop the WHL's Eastern Conference as they bring the curtain up on the month of March.

With six of their remaining 9 games to be played on home ice, the Wheat Kings enter the final month of regular season play with a record of 39-18-4-2. The Hurricanes meanwhile are 41-20-1-1 and will be looking to make it back to back wins when they travel to Moose Jaw to meet the Warriors on Wednesday night.

Brandon managed to pull back into a first place tie with the Hurricanes this past weekend by scoring a come from behind win in Lethbridge and losing a 4-3 overtime decision to the Tigers in Medicine Hat.

Following is a quick summary of the two team's remaining regular season schedule:

Brandon:

Home - Saskatoon (2), Moose Jaw (2), Swift Current and Regina

Away - Regina, Moose Jaw and Saskatoon

Lethbridge:

Home - Red Deer, Edmonton and Medicine Hat

Away - Moose Jaw, Saskatoon, Prince Albert, Kootenay, Red Deer and Medicine Hat

Both clubs have four games remaining against non-playoff teams.

Following Wednesday's game, the Wheat Kings will host Moose Jaw on Friday while Lethbridge travels to Saskatoon. Friday's game will be the first of three games in three nights for the Wheat Kings, who will close out the weekend with games against the Warriors and Pats in Moose Jaw and Regina respectively.

Wednesday's game - presented by the Brandon University Bobcats, Hosts of the 2016 CIS Women's Volleyball Championshps - is also the final Rain Check game of the season, which means any unused ticket (from Dec. 27th 2015 to Feb. 19th 2016) can be exchanged at the box office for a "free" ticket to this game (regular box office agency fees apply).

About the 2016 CIS Womens Volleyball Championship:  Seven teams will travel to Brandon next week to participate in the event, hosted by the Bobcats at the Healthy Living Centre. This event will be the first CIS national championship to be held at Brandon University. The weekend event is scheduled to get underway on Friday, March 11th with the championship final scheduled for 6pm on Sunday, March 13th.
