Long Island Ducks News Release
The Long Island Ducks are currently seeking community members that are interested in becoming host families for a Ducks player during the 2009 baseball season.
Hosting a player gives you the rare opportunity to get involved with the Long Island Ducks on a personal level, as one of our players will be an "adopted" member of your family during his time here on Long Island.
Often, many players become like an extended member of the families they live with, staying in touch with their host families for years to come. Year in and year out, hosting a player has been a positive experience for everyone involved.
You might wonder...what are the requirements for becoming a host family? We make it simple. If you can provide a private bedroom, and use of a bathroom, washer/dryer and kitchen for a Long Island Duck, you can be a host. Any other amenities that you are willing and able to provide will be greatly appreciated by your player.
Host families build relationships with the player staying in their home, and come out to the ballpark to support their player during games. The player staying with the host family benefits from his "adopted" family as they help him get acquainted with Long Island.
This season, our host families will be part of "Host Family Day" at the ballpark, an event designed to show our appreciation for all you have done to help the Long Island Ducks organization. You will also be invited to other events throughout the baseball season as a gesture of our gratitude.
