Last Week's Outings:

PHILADELPHIA (Feb. 9, 2008) -- A three-goal rally by the Philadelphia KiXX ended the Milwaukee Wave's three-game winning streak Saturday night, as the defending MISL champs won 12-8 at the Wachovia Spectrum.

Milwaukee (14-7) remains in first place over Detroit by a half-game. The Ignition play Sunday in Monterrey.

Anthony Maher gave the Wave a 6-4 lead in the third period, redirecting a shot by Greg Howes with 9:52 to go. Howes' assist gave him 79 points on the season, best in the MISL.

But the KiXX (10-11) tied the score just over two minutes later, then picked up a four-point lead on goals by Jon Barry Nusum and Ptah Myers in the fourth quarter.

The Wave closed to 10-8 on Maher's second goal, a sixth-attacker effort with 2:06 still remaining. Continued pressure with the extra attacker did not produce the equalizer, and Myers poked in an empty-netter with 19 seconds left to clinch the game.

Maher, playing back near his boyhood home of Cape May, N.J., led the Wave with five points.

The Wave dominated the first portion of the contest, but couldn't solve veteran KiXX goalkeeper Peter Pappas. The veteran had nine saves in the first 23 minutes to keep his team in the game before going out with an injury. Rookie Nick Hovaker replaced him, and made enough good plays to get the win.

Both teams were scoreless in their only power play attempt. Milwaukee's Tijani Ayegbusi drew the Wave's first penalty in two games with 6:56 left in the fourth, taking two minutes out of their comeback attempt.

NASH, STOUDEMIRE SIGN THE WAVE OF KINDNESS HARLEY

MILWAUKEE (Jan. 23, 2008) -- Steve Nash, a two-time National Basketball Association Most Valuable Player, and Phoenix Suns teammate Amare Stoudemire added their signatures to the Milwaukee Wave of Kindness Harley-Davidson on Tuesday night.

Wave forward Giuliano Oliviero is an acquaintance of Nash, and he brought the bike's custom-painted gas tank to be signed following the Suns' game with the Bucks at the Bradley Center.

Raffle tickets to win the bike are $5 for six tickets or $1 each, and can be purchased at www.milwaukeewave.com or at any Wave game. Proceeds benefit Wave of Kindness, which is the charity arm of the Milwaukee Wave dedicated to developing soccer among low-income and inner-city youth. The bike will be awarded on April 26 at the MISL Championship Game in Milwaukee.

Nash (above) is a five-time All-Star who won the NBA's MVP award in 2005-06 and 2006-07. Stoudemire (right) was the 2002-03 NBA Rookie of the Year and, at 25, is already a two-time All-Star.

Their signatures join those of Pele, Ryan Braun, Bonnie Blair, Fuzzy Thurston and others on this custom-painted 2008 Sportster XL 883. See the bike at every Wave home game, including this Sunday's 2 p.m. contest against Chicago. Other public appearances will be announced as they are confirmed.

Suburban Motors of Thiensville is the Wave's partner on this project.
