December 27, 2019 - Major Arena Soccer League (MASL)
Milwaukee Wave News Release
After a long holiday break to spend time with family and friends, the 7-time champion Milwaukee Wave on the road again and will take on the undefeated Florida Tropics Saturday afternoon at 4:05pm CST from RP Funding Center in Lakeland, Florida.
"The holiday break was great time for everyone to clear their heads and be with family and friends," said Milwaukee Wave Head Coach Giuliano Oliviero. "Now, it's back to business against a team who is not only in first place, but a team that also defeated us at home. That left a sour taste in our mouths and we have certainly not forgotten about it."

Former Orlando SeaWolves players, midfielder Mario Alvarez and defender Derek Huffman join the Milwaukee Wave.
Alvarez, in his fourth season in the MASL (Chicago, Cedar Rapids, Orlando), has made 45 game appearances and has recorded 16 goals, 13 assists & 23 blocks.
"Mario is a very technical player who has a great shot and is very skilled in 1V1 play," exclaimed Oliviero. "I think he's going to surprise a lot of people in this league, not just on the field but fans watching him."
Huffman, considered by some to be the 'bad boy' of the MASL, is in his fourth season with the league (Cedar Rapids, Orlando). Derek has made 51 game appearances and has recorded 24 goals, 19 assists & 35 blocks.
"Derek has been a very spirited player and a thorn in our side for many years," added Oliviero. "He will definitely serve a purpose and really play a role in our quest to repeat as champions."
The next home game at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena is the annual New Year's Eve game on Tuesday, December 31st at 3:07 as the Wave face one of the newest teams in the MASL, the Mesquite Outlaws. Kick-off is scheduled for 3:07pm.
