Milwaukee Wave News Release

The 7-Time Champion Milwaukee Wave look to keep their momentum going Sunday afternoon as they welcome the rival St. Louis Ambush to UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena.

Despite some inclement weather Saturday, which a majority is expected to hit the Milwaukee area in the morning and afternoon, there is no plan to cancel or reschedule the game at this time. Team management is closely monitoring the situation and will make any announcements, if necessary, via MilwaukeeWave.com and all social channels.

Doors open at 12:07pm on Sunday. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:07pm.

This will be the third of five meetings between the Wave and Ambush this season.

"We had a great week of preparation," said Milwaukee Wave Assistant Coach Marcelo Fontana. "If you look at the past games between the Ambush and us this season, they've been very close. We've been preparing not only physically but mentally as well and I know we're ready for whatever they throw at us this time."

The Ambush has one of the leagues leading scorers in player / coach Leo Gibson, while the Wave lead the way defensively with goalkeeper and Week 7 Player of the Week, Rafael Dias.

"When Josh (Lemos) went down, we expected Rafa to step up and he certainly has," added Fontana. "But he's also stepped up as a team leader and of course the guys have been backing him up all the way."

"I'm really grateful to awarded Player of the Week," said Milwaukee Wave Goalkeeper Rafael Dias. "In the end, it's a team effort and if it weren't for them, I wouldn't be in the spot that I'm in. It's all about working hard, staying in shape and being in a good position to help the team. Thank you to everyone that voted for me."
