Milwaukee Wave News Release
The Six Time Champion Milwaukee Wave defeated division foes, the Florida Tropics Saturday night at RP Funding Center in Lakeland,Florida.
Final score: Milwaukee Wave 7, Florida Tropics 2.
"The game plan was to win this game through our defense and that's what we did tonight," said Head Coach Giuliano Oliviero. "It was a very mature performance from our entire team. I'm very proud."
Other than giving up a restart goal almost 90 seconds into the first quarter, the Wave held the Tropics from scoring again until late in the 4th quarter.
Milwaukee Wave goals were scored by #75 Jonatan Santos (Q1 - unassisted), #28 Angel Curiel (Q2 - Max Ferdinand), #8 Luan Oliveira (Q2 - Robert Renaud), #16 Drew Ruggles (Q3 - Max Ferdinand), #14 Alex Bradley (Q4 - unassisted), #23 Daniel Chamale (Q4 - Robert Renaud), #24 Max Ferdinand (Q4 - Ian Bennett).
"It's great to have the ability to win a lot of different ways," said Oliviero. "While the Tropics were all over Ian tonight and held him to an assist, other guys stepped up, filled the void and our defense played fantastic. Great team effort tonight!"
The Wave return home to celebrate the holidays and then get back to work as they prepare for the annual New Year's Eve game Monday, December 31st, 3:05pm at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena against the St. Louis Ambush.
