(Milwaukee, WI) The Milwaukee Wave (5-1) is getting ready for another important Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Central Division showdown this Friday night (11/14) when it hosts the Kansas City Comets (1-3) in a 7:05 PM match at U.S. Cellular Arena. It will be Sprecher Root Beer Night at U.S. Cellular Arena, with the first 5,000 fans receiving a Wave 20th Anniversary Souvenir Cup courtesy of Sprecher.
Fans can also take advantage of a great ticket deal and help out the Milwaukee Hunger Task Force at the same time. All fans who bring at least two (2) non-perishable food items to the game will receive a four dollar ($4) discount coupon that can be used to toward the purchase of tickets for Friday's contest, or for a future home game.
Tickets at $18, $14, and $12 are on sale at the Wisconsin Center District (WCD) Box Office, located between U.S. Cellular Arena and the Milwaukee Theater at 510 W. Friday's game, like all other Wave contests, will air live on 540 AM, WRRD ("The Word") with the pre-game show starting at 6:45 PM.
The Wave, which currently boasts the MISL's best record at 5-1, will be looking to win its third straight following last weekend's victories over Monterrey (7-1 on 11/7) and St. Louis (6-2 on 11/8). Milwaukee leads the league offensively with an average of 6.3 goals per game and is second best defensively allowing just 4.3. Forward Greg Howes is the Wave's leading scorer with 12 points (eight goals, four assists â tied for first in the MISL) while forwards Michael King and Todd Dusosky have tallied 10 each (tied for fourth in the MISL). Meanwhile, goalkeepers Nick Vorberg (4-1, 5.15 GAA) and Dan Green (1-0, 1.00 GAA) have anchored a solid defense that has yielded more than five goals just once this season. Defender Troy Dusosky, the other half of the Wave's "Twin Tandem," is also the team leader in blocks with eight.
