
Wave Continue Winning Ways with Victory over Wichita

(Milwaukee, WI) - The Milwaukee Wave went into their annual New Year's Eve game with a six game winning streak which the team looked to continue that against Wichita. Both teams played well, but in the end it was the Wave who came out on top with a 12-6 win. The Wave improved to 8-2 on the season.
The first quarter saw the Wave attempt plenty of shots and their attacking style finally paid off when Tenzin Rampa scored to give the Wave a 2-0 lead. Rampa's goal would be the only one of the first quarter. In the second quarter both teams played stellar defense as neither scored until late, when Luan Oliveira continued his strong play to give the Wave a 4-0 lead heading into halftime.
The scoring started early in the third quarter as Wichita's Frederico Moojen gave the Wings their first goal of the game, making it 4-2. Later in the third the Wings tied the game at four on a goal by Andrew Hoxie. Shortly after Luan Oliveira scored his second goal of the game to put the Wave up 6-4, which it would remain at heading into the final quarter.
Wichita tied the game minutes into the fourth period as Miguel Ferrer made it 6-6. The Wave answered as Jonathan Greenfield blasted a three-point goal making it 9-6. Israel Sesay scored the first goal of his professional indoor career giving the Wave a 12-6 advantage. Nick Vorberg shut out Wichita for the remainder of the game and the Wave claimed their seventh straight win.
