Lancers Face Tough Stretch with Three Straight against Baltimore

(Rochester, NY) - The Rochester Lancers (5-6) will face a strong test this week as they kick off the New Year by welcoming the first place Baltimore Blast (9-2) to Rochester on Tuesday, January 1. The game which is the first of three straight against the Blast is set to kickoff at 4:00 p.m.
Rochester has struggled lately, dropping their last two matches at home to Syracuse and Milwaukee. The club will be looking to get back to the .500 mark with a win against the blast. Currently Rochester is in a three-way tie with Missouri and Wichita for third place, four games behind first place Baltimore. The two sides have met only one previous time this season with Baltimore leaving Rochester with a 17-11 win in November. Rochester, despite having never beaten the Blast in seven tries, trailed 12-11 in that game before Baltimore scored five points in the final three minutes.
Baltimore has also dropped their last two after leading off the season with nine consecutive wins. The Blast lead the MISL by just one game over second place Milwaukee after a 6-5 loss to the Wave last week. Following Tuesday's match in Rochester, the two teams will square off in Baltimore this Friday and Saturday, January 4th and 5th for a pair of matches against the Blast, both kicking off at 7:35 p.m.
Rochester's Doug Miller continues to lead the league in scoring with 54 points this season. The 43-year old is just 12 points behind last season's total, through eleven games this season. Baltimore's Machel Millwood leads the Blast with 31 points this year.
