FishSticks Millwork Offensive Player of the Week - Patrick Russell
With a goal during the first 70 seconds of Saturday's game between the Hawks and Youngstown Phantoms, Russell gave Waterloo a good start. He scored his second of the night less than a minute into the third period.
Denver Construction Defensive Player of the Week - Mark Friedman
Friedman was a big contributor from the blue line Saturday. He assisted on three Waterloo goals and scored another; in the process, the veteran was one of four Hawks with a +2 plus/minus rating.
UAW Local 838 Hardest Worker - Peter Krieger
Krieger notched his first USHL point versus the Phantoms, then added a couple of more for good measure. His finished Saturday's contest with three assists.
Convenient Care Heart of the Week - Drew Melanson
After being traded to Waterloo on Wednesday, Melanson helped the Hawks pull away to a victory. His score in the second period resulted in Waterloo's first multigoal lead against Youngstown.
