Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
Please find the Black Hawks Players of the Week listed below. Each Monday, the team's Players of the Week are selected by Black Hawks' coaches and staff and posted on waterlooblackhawks.com.
FishSticks Millwork Offensive Player of the Week - Ian McCoshen
McCoshen recorded a goal and an assist for the Hawks on Friday, helping Waterloo to earn an overtime point in Fargo. He is currently the USHL's third-highest scoring defenseman.
Denver Construction Defensive Player of the Week - Victor Newell
As the only defenseman to appear in both weekend games and come away with an even plus/minus rating, Newell is the Denver Construction Defensive Player of the Week. His goal Friday tied the contest less than two minutes before the end of regulation.
UAW Local 838 Hardest Worker - Tim Lappin
Lappin blocked shots and won faceoffs with regularity. He also recorded his first point as a Black Hawk, setting up a third period goal by Victor Newell Friday.
Convenient Care Heart of the Week - Brandon Salerno
A hustling play in the final minute of regulation Saturday yielded an assist for Salerno and helped the Black Hawks break up Fargo's shutout bid.
