
Washington Wild Things Re-Sign Groh And Schindling

Washington, Pa. - The Washington Wild Things, presented by Washington Financial, announced today that they have re-signed pitchers Zach Groh and Andrew Schindling for the 2010 season.
Groh returns for his third season with the Wild Things. Last year, he started 19 games and posted a 6-5 record and a 4.17 ERA with 95 strikeouts and 40 walks. The Reading, Pa., native made his professional debut in Washington in 2008 and went 3-3 with a 4.79 ERA in nine appearances.
In 2009, Schindling started 11 games for the Wild Things and posted a 4-3 record with a 4.80 ERA and 29 strikeouts in 60 innings pitched. A native of Silver Spring, Md., he split the 2008 season between Aberdeen of the New York-Penn League and Delmarva of the South Atlantic League. In 10 appearances with Aberdeen, he compiled a 1-1 record, 2.55 ERA and 15 strikeouts in 17.1 innings pitched. In seven appearances with Delmarva, he went 1-1 with one save and a 3.60 ERA.
"Zach and Andrew were an integral part of our starting rotation last season, and we're excited to have them back for 2010," said Todd Marlin, Washington Wild Things managing director.
The Wild Things open their ninth season on May 21 at CONSOL Energy Park when they host the Oakland County Cruisers. Individual tickets will go on sale on April 10 during the Wild Things' Open House from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Season ticket packages are available at the box office or by calling 724-250-9555.
